My complaint:

We booked a small car to rent for five days online via RentalCars.com, it was booked with Inter rent cars, we paid for the hire plus what was called “full protection insurance”, There was a long queue at the Inter Rent desk in Alicante Airport, we were informed by the Customer Service advisor at the desk that they did not recognise the insurance we had paid for and we needed to deposit 1100 Euro’s and could be charged up to that amount in the event of any incidentaccident. The alternative was to pay 154 Euros for insurance for the five days. This was double what we had already paid. This obviously happened to several people waiting as their discussions were lengthy at the desk, as was ours, and they walked away in disgust. This is so obviously a ‘con’ and once there you have no choice.

Suggested solution:

Refund 154 Euro’s and explain why Inter rent do not accept the insurance we paid for online as ‘full protection’.
