My complaint:
I purchased a padded Gilet from Debenhams at a cost of £60 around February this year.
The item was a well received gift .
However the elastic ties around the bottom to adjust the fit have , today, snapped. On closer inspection it is clear that the elastic used has been previously stitched together prior to being inserted into the garment thus rendering it fragile at the 2 points where they have been sewn. Inevitably with the nature of the garment being designed to be drawn up and adjusted , the poorly tacked joins have come apart.
Suggested solution:
This item has lasted just a few weeks. It has not been worn daily or even weekly since purchase and has been treated with care.
For this reason , I would like either the garment replacing, mending or a full replacement of the original cost.
I have contacted Debenhams who have ed the item is faulty and as such the complaint is with yourselves.
Having purchased many garments from your company I feel sure that somehow this shoddy garment has slipped through your Quality Control process and am confident this complaint will be rectified to my satisfaction with the minimum of fuss and inconvenience.
