Complaint from dlullner@yahoo.com reported on 24 February 2021 about Procter and Gamble

My complaint:

I am so ashamed of Proctor for allowing Gillette Venus Razors TV ad to continue. What is wrong with you. Showing a woman’s crotch and talking about pubic hair is not acceptable. It’s wonderful for men and perverts and young children. They are getting a kick out of it. Somethings should be left private!!! PLEASE. You are a very special company and should not be involved in PORN!!

Suggested solution:

Take it off the air!! PLEASE

I also find this commercial very offensive, it borders pornography. My husband was even taken aback by it.
There are other ways to let women know you have razors for their personal needs without enticing perverts & bringing pornographic garbage into our homes.

I absolutely find this the most disgusting commercial I’ve ever seen. What pervert ok’d this to air on national television? Some things should be left to the imagination and certainly not put out there for children to see. I’ve known several people who worked and retired with P&G, and I think they would be as embarrassed as I am. Come on people, you are better than this!

I’m disgusted by the Venus razor commercial showing a woman’s private area. This is simply outrageous and unfit for public tv. It’s offensive not only to adults but to our children. How low will you go to sell a product.?

This commercial shows way to much. There should not be seductive commercials on TV. Remove this commercial as it is not appropriate for TV. Showing someone shaving there lower leg is much better and not offensive to women. Showing shinny nicely clean shaved legs is much more appealing. To show a women’s groin is disgusting.

I agree with these comments! Why would ANYONE ever think this was a good commercial? How about you have a commercial with a man doing some ‘manscaping’ around his genitals??

My boyfriend and I had thankfully just finished eating dinner when we saw this disgusting commercial for the first time. I would not want to eat after seeing that. It is completely inappropriate and offensive. No one wants to see that. They could certainly convey their message without being vulgar.

The commercial is disgusting tasteless disrespectful and inconsiderate. Please pull the ad. It is really pathetic with a bend towards perversion. Pubic hair is a fact of life but so is vomit. Get it knuckle headed over paid jerks?

Totally agree! Horrified to see while grandson watching a show! This is crossing the line. Remove immediately from airing on Discovery, History & all family oriented programs/channels!

I agree with the complaint and in my opinion this is classless and makes me not want to buy the product. I really think they are pushing things too far. Why don’t they do something creative.

What is driving this company to lack dignity and respect in advertising their product. How low do you have to go to disgrace your company? Who is responsible?

I find the recent commercial about Venus Buick hair you’re very offensive and should not be shown on TV. That is something for me to explain to my daughter not for a stupid inappropriate commercial to be talking about

I just saw this commercial and I was outraged. Is there no decency anymore? I don’t complain to companies ever, but this- I found to personally disgusting. My girlfriends and I were talking about how sick it was. Maybe someone needs to go back to advertising school.

This commercial goes too far. It is gross and disgusting. Of course we can #say pubic. How utterly stupid! No one wants to see or hear this incredibly dumb advice! Please take it off the air. Surely someone in your advertising department has enough brains or talent to come up with an appropriate idea. If not, fire these woke jerks and find someone who can.

I could not agree more. It just shows lack of talent to come up with this disgustingly inappropriate commercial. Who are these gross people? No one needs to see that. What happened to common decency….

This is absolutely disgusting. Glad I’m not the only one who’s appalled. I will never support this company again. Remove your disgusting commercials. They are inappropriate and completely unnecessary. I don’t need to explain to my child what this commercial means.

I was shocked at the Venus Commercial showing a woman shaving the sides of her pubic hair hanging out her underwear. I don’t think the commercial needed to show a VISUAL of how it’s done. This was in poor taste. I will not be buying your products anymore.

Boycott them! That will let them know how we feel, like the World for Woman and Children’s safety means not one thing to them. Everyone is nude or half naked on TV now commercials

I cannot believe advertising has stooped to this level to sell a product. My husband and I are absolutely disgusted by this commercial. I refuse to buy any of your products as a result.

Repulsive. No one needs to be subject to shaving private parts. That’s why they are called private. Additionally, it is age and developmentally inapropriate. Children and young people should not be subjected to this nastiness, and parents/caregivers put into a position to explain what it all means.
