My complaint:
On Monday, July 24th, 2023 at 4:34 PM myself and my son walked into PNC bank to cash his check when we come into the bank we got in line there was one person ahead of us that was just finishing up we go up to the window my son tells Kim the teller that he wants to cash his check. He proceeds to hand her his paycheck still attached with with his paystub ID and Social Security card so she doesn’t say anything she sits on her computer for maybe 10 minutes and then she opens up her mouth and say that she’s trying to figure out if he can use his Social Security card because that’s not considered a second form of ID, and that he would need to use a School ID I proceeded to tell Kim that my son school does not give out school IDs and why would a School ID replace a Maryland state ID and Social Security card? She gets up and proceeds to tell me that she’s going to check with the manager and walks in the back me and my son stand for maybe five minutes when I noticed that she still hasn’t come out. I walked in the back, and I see kim and Diana standing at there Desk typing in my sons information on their computer. I proceeded to ask them what they are doing and Diana tells me that she is trying to verify the check and I asked her why would I need my son need to verify a check you can see that his paystub is attached to the check. He also has his ID and Social Security card and that’s not what Kim told me Kim told me that she was coming to the back to see if she can use his Social Security card , so I ask for my son stuff back and I asked them for corporate number she did proceed to ask me if I wanted to open up a checking account for my son because at this point you guys are racially profiling. Where is it at and state law that says a Social Security card is not a second form of ID when I proceeded to ask for a corporate. They gives me the one 800 number to PNC Bank , when I go on Google to write a review I see that there are hundreds of reviews with the same bank that has one stores and all of these people are saying that they’re not able to cash the checks there because they come up with some type of his excuse, as to why they cannot cash them it seems to me that these tellers main goal is to open up checking accounts if customers are not willing to open up a checking account, then the tellers will come up and find excuses as to why they can’t cash customer checks. Now mind you my son check it comes from PNC Bank. My son works for youthworks at Susquehanna workforce and Harvard in Greece a government office. Something needs to be done about these 2 tellers

I don’t know how they should resolve this complaint, but the thing is they tell the customer is the same thing something needs to be done about these two tellers
