My complaint:
I was watching The Office. During a commercial break, a clip of Amber Ruffin played highlighting what I assume to be her new show. In this clip, Amber jokes, “do y’all know how racist we were in the 1700’s? Only slightly more racist than we are today!” Where is the humor in this? Is this racially charged, divisive, crude style really one that NBC wants to embrace? If so, I will likely resort to finding The Office on DVD at a local record shop or thrift store, as it is the sole reason I pay for Peacock streaming service. I was disappointed when I found out that The Office would be removed from Netflix, and this latest experience has got me ready to bail on the network altogether.
Suggested solution:
Refuse to work with creators who choose to spread divisive, oppressive ideologies. Young adults watch these programs. Let’s try spreading messages of positivity and truth.
