McDonalds complaint: Incorrect order

My complaint:

I attended McDonald’s and ordered 2 plain cheeseburgers and a large fries, explaining that I just wanted the burger cheese and onion as I do not like any of the other garnishes..
Having paid £4.97 I then went home as I ordered this as a take away.
On my arrival at home , I found not only did they not put onion on my burgers , but no cheese either.
This has happened numerous times for me at this branch , so decided enough was enough and travelled back to McDonald’s on a 8 mile return trip using 8 miles worth of petrol.
On arrival I spoke to the same assistant who served me earlier who referred me to the manager.
The manager arrived at the counter, she explained the error. To my dismay I found this apathetic response to this issue appalling.
He did not even look at me. He did not even speak or apologise to me . I explained that I was having to make a return trip of 8 mile , due to the firms error. Again , no response.
He just said to the assistant , replace the burgers and walked off.
When I received my burgers I said what about the issue of using 8 miles worth of petrol for my inconvenience. I could not believe that she pathetically offered me a free McFlurry ,(which I don’t like).
The manager who is supposed to be in charge of this incident was basically a complete waste of space and just was not interested at all..

Suggested solution:

I feel that I should have been compensated for the error and the cost of the petrol and inconvenience, at least a voucher for a replacement meal, as I threw the fries away when I got home.
