Subject: Complaint Regarding Rejected Winnings – Accepted Bet at Greenford Oldfield Circus Branch
Dear Sir/Madam,
On 12th September 2025, I placed a £10 bet at your Greenford Oldfield Circus branch. The bet was accepted, printed, and I received an official betting slip ing my wager:
Event: World Boxing Championships – Women’s Semi-Final
Selection: Szeremeta to Win
Stake: £10
After the fight, I returned to the shop to collect my winnings. To my surprise, I was told by your staff that “there was no price available” and that the only option was to refund my £10 stake.
This is not acceptable. Once a bet is accepted, printed, and a slip is issued, it constitutes a binding contract between Ladbrokes and myself. Refusing to settle the bet fairly is, in my view, a breach of your obligations under both your own published rules and under UK Gambling Commission regulations.
I request a full settlement of my winnings in line with the accepted bet.
Please treat this as a formal complaint. If I do not receive a satisfactory resolution within the required timeframe, I will have no choice but to escalate this matter to the Independent Betting Adjudication Service (IBAS) and inform the UK Gambling Commission.
I look forward to your response.
Yours faithfully,
Mariusz Ziolkowski
Suggested solution:
I will only be satisfied when Ladbrokes honours the bet that was accepted and printed on my betting slip. The full winnings must be paid out according to the accepted wager on Szeremeta to win. Returning only my stake is not an acceptable resolution, as the bet constitutes a binding contract once issued.
