My complaint:
I rented a room here about 8 months ago and had payment issues at the time so I bought a tent and parked it out back in a parking spot. It was in the middle of the night and no other places were open at the time except Walmart. Manager Ashley came by the next morning and told me they had received 5 complaints against me. Complaints for what? Complaints by who? I didn’t do anything to anyone! I kept to myself, kept my area clean, and wasn’t taking up much space. That’s ok though as I complied and was gathering my stuff up to leave. Ashley left and a couple minutes later, the big boss of the hotel, Roberto, came by and told me to leave the property. I told him I just needed a few more minutes to finish gathering all my stuff. Roberto then became agitated and impatient, yelled at me at the top of his lungs to get off his property, and threatened to call the cops on me for trespassing. I told him that I am actively packing my stuff up and that it would take a few more minutes before I was gone. He said ok, walked off, and as he did so, he said that HPD would be here in 30 minutes. I was already gone within 5 minutes. Fast forward 8 months and my financial situation improved, I had the money in hand, and had already rented a room out the night before. I was trying to get another day on the room when I was told by the front desk that I’m not supposed to rent a room here. This took me by surprise as I had no clue as to what would have spurred this on. When I inquired as to why I can’t rent a room here, the lady at the front desk called Ashley who explained to me over the phone that it was due to what happened 8 months ago. That would be great if it were completely true, which it wasn’t. The issue here is they correctly claim I had placed a tent out back for a few hours of the night 8 months ago yet falsely claim that I refused to leave and was harassing people on the property. This is a complete fabrication as it never happened! I even showed them that I had the money ready to go but they kept claiming their lies and stood their ground. Meanwhile, every single room is infested with roaches no matter what they do. They have prostitutes and pimps working out of the rooms. They have drug dealers and drug users working out of and doing drugs in the rooms. They have multiple gun shots and people swinging knives around every other day. The front gate is always wide open as people always break it. Why do they do this you ask? Because people work night shift at places off of the property and when the staff here leave for the night, they close the gate. How this becomes an issue is the staff sometimes are not in the office to push the button to open the gate after hours when these people come back from work despite renting rooms here. This has happened so many times, the staff just simply refuse to put in a work order for it. Rooms are broken for months at a time before they get repaired. In fact, the ceiling fell down on top of a customer who was in the one room and it still isn’t fixed after a whole month! The reason for this happening was because there was a water leak that had water pooling on the inside of the ceiling until it became too heavy for the ceiling to bear. Not to mention all the gang members who are always present on the property. The staff at this place do not supply toilet paper unless you pay a dollar for just one single roll. The washing machines are constantly broken down and flooded. There are feral stray cats all over the property, walking on cars and wherever else they please. They have a single security guard who is completely useless as he/she is seldom present. Yet, despite all that, a white male who is clean from all that nonsense and keeps to himself, never causing problems with anybody, can’t rent a room here simply for complying with orders 8 months ago, but took too long for their liking to pack up and go. This just leaves me shaking my head.
Suggested solution:
Fix the real issues at hand here and stop putting people on the do not rent list over nothing.
