My complaint:

On 9/23/22 my husband booked a room on line at the Hampton Inn, upon check in we were told there would be a returnable deposit of $75.00 for the room, I paid the deposit, upon check out I was told my deposit would be returned to my card, a hour after leaving the hotel, the fraud depth of my bank called and informed me that someone from the Hilton hotel ŵas trying to run 8 different amounts of payments totalling almost $2000.00, I called the hotel and left a message for the gm to call me about this situation, a hour later the gm called me and informed me they kept my $75.00 deposit and needed more money to total $250.00 due to ashes being on the toilet seat, I informed him that my husband and I neither one were smokers, and there was no way ashes were on that toilet seat, first off because we don’t smoke and secondly I use that toilet prior to exiting the room, he claimed to smell cigarette smoke in our room, I could smell cigarettes in the hallway from people coming in from outside smoking, there is nothing posted saying that put out cigarettes could not be brought into the building, and that is what the strong smell was in the hall, I want my deposit returned, and I want to be compensated for the 8 fraudulent times my card was run without my permission, due to the fact that my card had to be turned off and a new card reissued, this has caused me a great deal of issues and unnecessary problems caused by your employee, please return my $75.00 deposit and compensate me for the $175.00 my husband and i paid for this room due to our special day being ruined by a fraudulent employee, my attorney has advised me to go thru human resources before I file a court claim, and that is what I’m doing now with this notice…. thank you

Suggested solution:

Return the $75.00 deposit, and reimbursing us the $175.00 for the room due to our special day being ruined, due to fraudulent reruns trying to obtain money from my account
