My complaint:

RE: 2012 Chevrolet Volt, case number 9-6740964306.

I am an owner of a 2012 Chevrolet Volt (VIN 1G1RD6E45CU122675) which I purchased for my daughter for commuting to college. The vehicle had an issue with the BCC module and I brought it to Flemington Chevrolet (Flemington, NJ) for service. After nearly two months, the parts for the vehicle did not arrive and I was given a loaner (I have been told that the timeline to receive the part is “indetermined”). Two weeks later, the dealership asked for the loaner to return and claimed the vehicle is “driveable”. With the vehicle due for inspection in July 2021 and the check engine light illuminated, I am certain that the vehicle will fail New Jersey State inspection and be deemed undriveable putting me in a situation that I no longer have a vehicle for my daughter to drive.
After negotiations with the dealership and many communications with Chevrolet Customer Service, I have gotten no answers. Chevrolet Customer service has offered me some incentives which were not of any value to me (They offered me a 30 month pre-paid maintenance plan after I have spent nearly $2000 on maintenance in the past 6 months).
I currently own three Chevrolets and two Cadillacs (I always try to buy American) but I am afraid after this experience that I will never buy another GM product.
I hope that GM values me as a customer (more so than Chevrolet Customer Service) and offers me some reasonable solution to my problem. I look forward to hearing a better solution from GM than the dealership or Chevrolet Customer Service can offer .

Suggested solution:

Chevrolet should step up and either buy the car back from me if they cannot repair it in a reasonable timeframe, offer me a significant incentive to trade the vehicle in for a new vehicle or offer me a significant toward a new GM vehicle within the next three years ($3500 with a one year expiration is not significant).
