My complaint:
On Sunday, August 1st, as I rode my bike from Cap’s Bike Shop on Alexandra I was hit by the right side mirror of the shuttle bus from Sheraton Four Points. I was startled and forced to swerve violently. I caught up to the driver at the next set of lights on Hazlebridge. The light turned green and he accelerated. Realizing that chasing a bus was pointless I went to the hotel instead. It was just around the corner.
I calmly explained my situation to the young woman wearing a mask and asked to speak with whoever was in charge of the drivers. This was technically a hit and run.
She said that there was nothing she could do, that the drivers were from an outsourced contractor, and she could not reveal their information.
I knew that was a load of BS, she was obviously protecting someone.
When I asked for the manager, she wouldn’t provide me with a number, name or email. I said that if they don’t address this I’d call the Police. When I said that, one of the other front desk clerks offered me a bottle of water and ushered me to a couch in the lobby. He spoke to the girl and then they went back about their business.
A few minutes later the same girl came up to me and said I should leave, behind her was a security guard – a teenage girl in an oversized black polo shirt and cargo pants 3 sizes too big. She said “ You can call the Police”
At that point, I completely lost my patience and took out my phone and filmed our conversation. After repeatedly telling me not to film her, she said that she wouldn’t give me any info to anyone who’d help me with the incident. Satisfied with my evidence I contacted RCMP who assured me that they will investigate. The helpful constable also suggested reaching out to ICBC.
I am a wildland firefighter, I had just gotten home the day before from the LyttonLillooet fires to enjoy a few days with friends and family and I’m subjected to this shit. Sheraton! Shame on you!
If you’d like to see the video, I’d be happy to share it with anyone in private.
Suggested solution:
I\\\'m not sure. It\\\'s shocking to see how deteriorated customer service has become. Especially at such a name as Sheraton.
That driver is dangerous and that customer service woman needs a course in handling people skills.
I believe in the Sheraton name and I\\\'m sure the right measures will be taken to right the wrongs.
