My complaint:
I was purchasing a product, the shelf price read $2.35. I check out at the Cash register, and was charged $2.60. No big deal. But when I brought it to the Managers attention, he was extremely adversarial! When I approached him, I asked if his name was Jay. He didn’t answer. I asked again, he didn’t answer. Then he abruptly said, What do you want? I told him that the price in the shelf. I said, I’d like to show the price on the shelf. He said, I ain’t got no time for that. Corporate sets the prices, call corporate. I’m the only manager here. I’m doing too much right now. I informed him that I will contact your Corporate office. I was very much offended by his attitude and the abusive way that he responded to me. I’m not so thin skinned that I can’t deal with abusive speech. However, a manager should conduct himself with better decorum than Jay. I will never shop at that Family dollar again and possibly no other Family Dollar!
Suggested solution:
1) strong reprimand to Jay. 2) More training in customer service. 3) Threat of termination if another incident occurs.
