My complaint:
Over a year ago I filed a police report about employees at this same location swiping their own rewards cards during customers purchases without asking the customer FIRST if they have a rewards card…. Today on 7-5-21 at approximately 8pm it happened again. The woman working tonight was a different person than previously…. But has constantly had a poor attitude and is very rude on a regular basis …. Kinda like she doesn’t much like her job.
I made a purchase and as I handed the woman my cash money I told her I had a rewards card. I believe the card she swiped was her own rewards card and then told me she had already rung it up and didn’t even apologize. I ask her to cancel the transaction and ring it up again so I could use my rewards card. She ignored my request and acted as though I had said nothing. This is theft of money. If they are doing it to me then I know they are doing it day in and day out. Probably multiple employees. The amount of money that they would be stealing from customers would add up to a substantial amount of money over time…. Which is exactly why they are doing it. There is a competing “CASEY’s” a block away in this small town and this is why I believe many people have stopped shopping at your EZ MART….. shady employees who are constantly making customers wait while they chat amongst each other and gossip…. Didn’t wear their mask during the entire COVID pandemic even though they have signs posted that the customers are required to wear mask. And knowingly stealing from customers rewards program even after having a police report filed against them previously where they gave some lame explanation to the police about how they only use their own card when customers don’t have their own….. which is technically stealing from the rewards program itself.
Late at night when I go into the store occasionally their is nobody in sight and I have to wait at the counter and yell out loud before someone comes to the front and will check me out.
The woman working today frequently leaves the checkout counter when I enter the store and starts doing some sort of busy work away from the counter and then makes me ask her if she’s going to check me out or if I it’s going to be free…. Very unprofessional and discourteous service.
Suggested solution:
How you handle your complaint is your choice to make. But my recommendation would be to handle it the same way you would if a CUSTOMER were to steal from the store or from one of the stores employees. The simple fact that the employees including the manager believe what they are doing…. Even if it’s a customer without a rewards card…is OK ??? should speak volumes.
