My complaint:

I have been a long-standing customer of Dunnes shopping there for over 50 years. I had a new upsetting experience yesterday. I picked up 3 Christmas pillowcases in the sale section – (robin pattern) , I brought the 3 pillowcases to the checkout – the young man was unable to get a price. He went to speak with the manager, Cathy, who I never saw before -she may be new. She advised that she couldn’t sell the pillowcases as they are part of a set. I had previously purchased the set and that was why I was interested. She advised that they were tidying up and said she needed to keep the pillow cases as someone may have bought the set without the pillowcases and that would be unfair to that customer.

Suggested solution:

I can’t understand why the manager refused to sell the pillowcases - they were in the sale section- there were no duvets left. If they weren’t for sale they shouldn’t be on the floor. Everything else in that section was on sale.

I have often bought odd pillowcases in the Dunnes sale- I didn’t accept the manager’ explanation- totally bizarre behaviour.

The manager should have sold the pillowcases to me.
