My complaint:

On August 2nd I received a text message providing a code to a withdrawal and to click a link if the transfer was unauthorized. I clicked a link which seemingly brought me to the Coinbase website and logged in. This unbeknownst to me was a phishing scam and allowed the phisher to access my accounts and transfer $132,000 in BTC from my wallet elsewhere. As soon as I logged in and saw that the transfer was pending (about 5 mins after receiving the phishing text) I called Coinbase and immediately froze my account. The transaction at that time was only “pending” and the funds were still in my account. I then filed numerous complaints immediately online as I was unable to get ahold of an actual human being. FOR SOME REASON, Coinbase proceeded to permit the transfer to go from “pending” to completed. It is absolutely mind boggling to me why a transaction would be processed while my account was FROZEN.

Suggested solution:

Use insurance funds to return the monies I was scammed out of as a result of Coinbase’s completely inadequate and grossly negligent security protocol. There was clearly a breach which allowed the scammer to identify me as a Coinbase user and provided them with my phone number.
