Buyagift complaint: Poor standard of cleanliness

My complaint:

We stayed at the Mercure Hotel on310522 using a buyagift voucher which I’d been given on my retirement from work. The room we were allocated was an utter disgrace. The teacoffee tray had not been cleaned there was dried up milk stains all over the tray and Kettle. The shower cubical was absolutely disgusting with both black mould and pink which is a sign of a build up of bacteria, no ledges or lamp shades had been dusted in months. On complaining to reception we were given the room next door which although better still left a lot to be desired as far as cleanliness goes. The curtains had come adrift form the rail there was still an unacceptable amount of dust, however we stayed the night but complained bitterly to the receptionist as the whole place needs a refurb., 95p percent of the double glazed units have failed and are filled with condensation, the whole place could do with a deep clean. We were very disappointed and surprised that you offer this hotel on your web site.

Suggested solution:

We would appreciate our buyagift voucher being re-instated in order for us to enjoy a pleasant stay at a decent hotel. We had paid an extra £30 for our overnight stay at The Mercure Hotel which under the circumstances we feel they should have refunded.
