My complaint:
Today while I was preparing to carry out some recreation I parked in the public car park adjacent to Booker Irvine. The manager confronted me telling me to move my car as it was parked on Booker property and that if my car was not moved he would have it wheel clamped. I told him that the car park was a public one according to North Ayrshire Council Highways List. He became more aggressive and threatening. He did not tell the car next to me to move , they were dog walkers and the car on the other side of me was there to swim but were not told to move. I have also contacted the local area council telling them that Booker is trying to enforce parking restrictions. I have attatched a excerpt from council street lists which details Dunlop Drive and twin car parks as ‘Public’.
Suggested solution:
The manager has to be informed that agressive behaviour is not acceptable and threatening clamp or block cars in is against the law on a public highway.
They have today ( saturday 30th July 2021) completely blocked the car park with a large lorry and pallets. The polce have attended and declined to act as it was deeemed a civil matter.
