My complaint:

I wish to make a complaint about my recent visit to Aldi.

On Wednesday 13th May I went to do some shopping. At around 16:45 hours I queued in the isle, that is the far left hand side. There was no one else queuing at the time. I heard a shout that till 5 was free. I began to make my way to till 5 but remember that I had forgotten a very essential item (sanitary towels) . The isle that contains these items are kept not far from till 5. I grabbed what i needed then made my way back to till 5.

I was shouted at by a Aldi worker and told to get back in the queue. He was very rude. Shouted as if i was a child. I was so startled I just said, Im an intensive care nurse? He ignored me.

I made my way back to join the queue and had to go all the way back and figure out the appropriate way to rejoin the queue.

I was very upset and on reflection found his behaviour unacceptable. I wish never to return to the store again but I have to as its my nearest store.

I am an intensive care nurse looking after covid 19 patients on every shift, and a single parent mother of two. Im of mixed heritage, and apparently statistics show that fatality is higher with people of my ethnicity. My stress levels are very high and I would do anything to avoid going to the shops.

Please could you have the courtesy to inform the male staff on this day that this behaviour is unacceptable. If I shouted at a patient in the same way, I would loose my registration and be unable to practice as a nurse.

Many Thanks

Suggested solution:

A written apology
