My complaint:
My colleagues and I all placed our orders online for pick up. I drove down to the restaurant and placed another take out order for a colleague who did not use the online app. While I waited for that order to be made I checked the shelves to make sure that the three other orders, that had been placed for myself and my colleagues had been prepared. They had been so I returned to wait on the last minute order. Once that was ready I collected the other orders from the shelf. As I walking towards to door a staff member yelled at me to “stop” and demanded to know why I had taken these orders. I explained the situation, his response was “well people steal”. This may be true but I have never stolen in my life and to be accused of it infront of a large group of people is highly humiliating. Why would I think about taking orders from a shelf where staff can clearly see me?
Suggested solution:
He could have apologized and made it clear to all in the area that it was his error. Not, walk back to his colleague laughing and saying very loudly that he thought I was stealing.
