My complaint:

i went searching for a natural diamond engagement ring on 12-23 at 560 s broadway, los angeles, ca 90013. i decided on a diamond that was described as a.2.27 total karats, color g, vsi and paid $5,500. i wanted to insure the diamond but i needed an appraisal, i took it to a jeweler for the appraisal and they told me it was not a natural diamond, but a laboratory diamond. i sent it to gia on 1723, the experts in diamonds, to get a report of the diamond. it was confirmed by gia on 12-3-23 that it was lab diamond not a natural diamond and the color was not g, but j.

on 12-3-23, i reached out to the store via email. he asked for pictures of the ring and receipt and offer to exchange for a natural diamond. he didn’t respond to my email. i told him i would rather return it.

on 12-6-23 i went to the store to return it and get a refund. he said his jewelry had guarantee and that he would contact them to let them know they had sold him a lab diamond. he told me he would call me in a couple of days once he has a natural diamond.

at this point, i didn’t trust himhis store and i told him i would rather return it, not exchange it. he told me that there is no refunds, and that in the receipt they gave me it says diamond, it doesn’t say lab or natural diamond, and that he is covered because of that. then i said that i really want to return it, it has been very frustrating and i had incurred almost $200 in getting the diamond inspected for insurance purpose and i just don’t want to have to go over that again. he insisted the receipt says no refund and again i tried to tell him that they sold me a product with incorrect description.

i told him i would dispute it with the credit card company and he said go ahead, all his paperwork its in order plus they have a copy of my id that it was me who applied.
google and yelp reviews attest that he has done this to other consumers, sold gold that wasn’t the right karats and diamonds that were lab made not natural diamonds.

Suggested solution:

I attempted to return the ring but Omid insisted there is no refunds.
