My complaint:
NBC Nightly News, August 28, 2020, presented a disgusting story about Jerry Falwell Jr. and his wife’s sexual dallying. It completely dismissed the nature of significant news reporting by delving into lewd activities between individuals whose indecent acts replaced import news…as if there was nothing more important to share with the American public than all-revealing sexual acts between three people. The amount of time devoted to this item far exceeded the amount of time dedicated to real news. What NBC News did simply played to the lowest denominator or our current culture.
Suggested solution:
Surely there are news items that inform the public of important topics rather than spending an inordinate amount of time on an issue that does nothing to inform the nation of significant issues.
