My complaint:
The decision to allow the President to compete with his political rival by granting him an audience in the same time slot was irresponsible, unprofessional and counterproductive to what I believed your Network ‘stood for’. And counterproductive to a goal of allowing the average US citizen to obtain as much information as possible in order to form an educated opinion regarding the current Presidential candidates.
I was confused, disappointed and saddened by your decision to allow a present-era P.T. Barnum to ‘steal-the-show’ for his personal, political goals.
NBC has succumbed to either political or financial pressures to the detriment of what should be the goal of any professional news service and your audience will suffer and hopefully hold you accountable.
In these uncertain times, I believe NBC’s actions are suspect, pitiful and a gross disservice to your many loyal customers.
Suggested solution:
Maintain a professional, non-partisan approach in all matters.
