My complaint:
I have written to Joy Reid in the past, asking her to stop using the term consiglieri to describe unscrupulous lawyers. I pointed out that this term is offensive to and demeans Italian-Americans. It is, in my opinion, racist. Although she never replied to me, I have not heard her use the term again until tonight’s broadcast (May 5, 2021).
Suggested solution:
Instruct Ms. Reid to stop using this racist term, and perhaps acknowledge the inappropriateness of its use.
