My complaint:
I ordered an upgraded gas supply to my new property and when I followed it up to see when Jemena were planning to come out I was directed to pick up and install the upgrade kit. After installing the kit I called again to let them know that they can now send the technician to assess the the works and supervise my plumber whilst completing the installation. When I spoke to the representative from Jemena she looked up my job and said that Jemena are unable to install until the service upgrade is done, so now the gas is cut off and I have been waiting 1 month for the service upgrade and don’t even have scheduled date of installation for the service upgrade ( that is a large pipe from street to the meter.
I have 4 kids and a wife, we can’t cook or have hot showers and I have an eleven year old boy who has a strict diet he needs to follow because has a fatty liver. If anything happens to my little boy because of all the take away food he has been eating I will be taking legal action against Jemena. This all could’ve been avoided if first of all Jemena held off the meter upgrade installation or simply came and installed the upgraded pipe. I have called on numerous occasions and not had an installation date advised
Suggested solution:
Get someone one out to upgrade the service from street to meter immediately or at least provide a temporary gas supply until the contractor is able to get here. Since Jemena were responsible for my gas being disconnected by my plumber when they directed me to install the upgrade kit when the service upgrade had not even been scheduled in to be done. Then they are responsible for me not having gas because I could’ve just installed the upgrade kit after the service upgrade and only been out of gas for a few days
