My complaint:
My name is Tessa, and my Instagram account was hacked on October 19 after I clicked a fundraiser link for war refugees. They changed my username from the_cherian to ___cherian_t. They changed the phone number and email address associated with it and delinked my Facebook account from it. I have no way of signing into my account including the selfie video report option. They are sending messages to all of my followers in hopes of hacking their accounts using the same link or scamming them through Bitcoin.
For the past month, I’ve had all my friends report the account hundreds of times, but Instagram has not taken it down. I’ve also been trying to utilize Instagram’s support page, but it keeps sending me in a circle back to the same page which just asks me if I was hacked. As a student in a medical program, this has taken a huge mental toll on me, including leading me to depressive symptoms. This is jeopardizing my education as well as my future career. Due to Instagram’s lack of response,
Suggested solution:
They should delete my hacked account ___cherian_t based on the hundreds of reports and screenshots sent as well as my impersonation reports.
