Green Dot Bank complaint: Unauthorized charges and denied claim

My complaint:

On May 19, 2020. I noticed a very large purchase on my account when I checked the account to purchase dinner for my family. I was very upset because I didn’t recognize the charge and I knew something was wrong. I called Green Dot bank immediately and was told that I had to wait to file a dispute, I saw the charges were from ebay and the person had attempted to purchase about 5 more items, which were showing as pending or denied charges, I contacted ebay and was told my account had been hacked and that they were going to help me, I contacted the seller listed on the sale to try and have the item intercepted, so that could avoid a bunch of headache, well today October 2, 2020, Greendot has denied my case and lied and said I had duplicate cases, its just the one in which I provided written documentation from ebay that my account had been hacked and unauthorized charges had been made, Green Dot made a provisional credit of the stolen funds only to go back and place the funds due back to them on my account and the account indicates a negative balance for the fraudulent charge. I have taken time out of many days making phone calls to Green Dot as well as mailing proof of the unauthorized charges to them and they have denied my claim. It is quite shameful that they are doing this to people and I can only imagine that a person with less understanding of how this system works with claims and proof of fraudulent activity will just have to suffer. I know that there are many others out there and if I need to I will take to every social media platform, contact the better business bureau and seek legal counsel to file suit, because it may cost me more than the money they are trying to steal from me again, but at least maybe something will be done to stop this from happening to someone else.

Suggested solution:

Green Dot should have taken notice of the paperwork sent to them indicating that this was a result of a hacked ebay account and fraudulent charge and honored my claim, but instead they decided to prey on an innocent person as I am sure they have done many others. I will not let this rest until they provide the answer that is logical and correct here.
