My complaint:
We arrived late at night in Barcelona and my partner and I were really tired so we just quickly got in the bed and went to sleep. When we woke up we noticed that there was syrup in the bed, on the nightstand and strands of hair everywhere as if the room was never cleaned. In the morning I spoke with management and asked them to clean and we were given to free breakfast tokens and shooed away and we were told it would be cleaned. We returned in the evening to a dirty room, nothing had been touched. We then went down stairs to complain and ask for a clean room. They then moved us to a different room, to add insult to injury, this room was WAY WORSE, there was urine on the floor, urine in the toilet, dirty bed sheets and BLOOD ON THE WALL. When I told the staff they told me they can’t do anything and gave me a mop and a bucket to clean the urine on the floor. It was absolutely disgusting. That night i asked for a FULL refund so we can find a new hotel. Unfortunately most hotels did not have any vacancies. So we were forced to sleep in the blood stained, urine ridden, dirty room. First thing in the morning I went downstairs to speak with management and asked for a full refund and he told me he can only refund me for one night, although we were forced to sleep in dirty rooms for two nights. After a bit of a discussion, management said they would refund us and give us a clean room. They however only fulfilled half of that request, the new room was nice and clean but no refund. Extremely disappointed as I have stayed in the Generator in the past but my experience will keep me away forever. Empty promises, poor hygiene standards.
