My complaint:
For as long as we can recall Fray Bentos corned beef tins were easy to open with the attached key – but the new rectangular shaped tins with ring pull are an ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE TO OPEN and in our opinion very dangerous due to the tremendous amount of force needed to pull the lid across the tin. Our concern is that someday soon one of us will have a serious cut solely due to the lid suddenly releasing from the tin. We actually use pliers to strongly grip the so called easy to open ring pull.
Easy to rmove it is definitely NOT! The oddly shaped tins used for at least 70 years were easy to open but we guess the new rectangular shape means cost savings in outer carton packs as well as reduced transportation costs. FIX IT NOW – BEFORE MAJOR ACCIDENTS…..
Suggested solution:
Change the dangerous mode of opening corned beef tins
