My complaint:
Clerk demanded a different Identification because her scanner would not scan my lawful issued passport this is a legal identification issued by the federal government and is I not required to be scanned to be proof of age it is issue by the United States government and just simply refusing to take my legal given Identification because your scanner won’t take it and not selling cigarettes to someone who is definitely over 40 is just down right unacceptable the law states I must provide identification if I look under forty not purchase an identification that your system can scan sometimes and sometimes not she was very rude when I informed her that law doesn’t require a scannable identification instead of apologizing and stating that she was new and was told she had to scan the identification she raise her voice at me and stated the law said she had to scan the identification if your clerks don’t know how to read a legal identification you should probably teach them but telling them to refuse is unacceptable
Suggested solution:
Teach them to take identification and read it if it doesn’t scan
