My complaint:
On January 6, 2024 while shopping at Cardenas Market I was approached by a man wearing a beanie and a zipped up to the neck leather jacket. At first i thought he was a customer inquiring where i purchased a bottle of coke that was in a 99c bag as well as other items, I had placed the items to purchase at Cardenas separately in the front of the cart as i always fo. I told the man i purchased it at the 99c store he said this is not a 99c I watched as he proceeded to pick up the botyle of coke look in my bags and picked up my purse. At that poin I thought is he going to steal .my purse shoot me or what? I said what the (bleep) do uou think your doing? No reply. I said who are you? No reply? I asked are you store security twice before he nodded his head. I asked wheres uour badge ? Whats your name? No answer . He then walked away over to the meat counter spoke with someone there as they started laughing. So I said you have a lot to learn and thats not how you treat someone, you just lost a customer. I picked up my purse and bags from the 99c store and walked out. He followed me out and was watching me as i placed my purchases in my carry, I dont have a car and have to carry my groceries home and at 60 years old and disabled it is not a easy task.Atbthat point I asked him again for his name he had no reply and walked back in the store. I went back in the store inquired about the mans name and who was the store manager . They said they didnt know his name and the manager had gone home. While I waited in line to ask someone else about his identity I took 2 pictures of the man and when he saw me he covered up his face with his hands and walked away down the isle. No one appoligized. I suffer from severe depression and anxiety attacks so at that point I was crying but still proceded to ask the checker about the mans identity and to ask to speak to a manager. The checker didnt know the mans name did not he was store security and told me to wait over by the office for the manager. I waited for a few minutes noticed that the rmployees were talking and laugjing like it was a joke. I had never been treated that way before by any store personnel in my whole life. I left saying you people are something else. Are security or Cardenas employees in general taught to respect the customers It would have been so easy for the man to identify himself as store security and ask if i had a receipt for the coke which was right in the bag.
Suggested solution:
There is nothing they can do to help me. I will never shop there again the damage is done. But for other customers i would recomment properly training your employees in customer relations as well as developing a standard protocol which includes but is not limited to identifying yourself prior to asking a customer questions and asking for a customers consent prior to searching and handling items they own such as bags and purses etc.
Seriously if i had had my stun gun I would have zapped him as soon as he touched my purse. I still do not know whether he was security or some common criminal no one verified that information.
