Balsam Hill complaint: Christmas Garland that worked for seven days

My complaint:

Received delivery of garland along with other items circa 8th November 2021.
Purchase total £700, including garland costing £199.

Decorations set up one week before Christmas and worked well until garland ceased to work on Christmas morning. Changed batteries. No joy.

Contacted company when it reopened on 29th December by EMail after advised by phone to do so.

Dealt with Maricris who advise changing batteries and replacing the lights. Not working.
Contacted again. Offered 10% discount and free light strands.

Declined offer and an quoted Sale of Goods Act 2010 and a repair but was advised by Mark that the premium guarantee was for 30 days.

I was then informed that a repair could not be done and was offered, by Tyrone, a final 20% discount.

I have offered to return the garland.

Suggested solution:

A full refund should be given as the garland was not fit for purpose with 1 weeks duration.
