My complaint:

Since I have come to the APC Domestic Violence shelter I have seen so many wrongs with shelter staff. I think a lot of them are biased in so many ways toward minorities and people of color. I think they limit a lot of the resources they have to those of color. They are constantly doing private room searches like going through personal belongings without proper notice. Which is not in the handbook. They say they have bed bugs that’s why they are searching peoples belongings. I have yet to see a bed bug anywhere. They don’t provide adequate help for individuals. I think they don’t support us with services geared to domestic violence. They provide the shelter residence women and children with outdated food. They have been discriminatory to individuals in the LGBTQ community. The staff here definitely don’t try to do there part in providing help or resources that’s available to help shelter residents get on there feet.

Suggested solution:

I would like to see some type of disciplinary action done to staff members that are creating a negative environment at a facility that\'s suppose to have safety for the abuse, a supportive staff, and individuals working together to help the residents as best as they can.
