My complaint:
NBC’s decision to enable President Trump’s truculence by scheduling his town hall directly opposite Vice President Biden’s town hall is despicable. Mr. Biden is following through on his commitment to participate in the town hall as agreed by both candidates with the Commission on Presidential Debates. You have rewarded Mr. Trump’s refusal to participate in a format where he cannot control his microphone time and continue to interrupt his opponent as he did in the first debate. By scheduling his town hall at the same time as Mr. Biden’s, not only have you made it difficult if not impossible for voters to watch and consider both candidates, you have enabled Mr. Trump’s dysfunctional behavior. Having made a star of Mr. Trump by masquerading him as a business genius on The Apprentice, I would have thought you would have avoided any further support for his misbehavior.
Despite being a faithful and daily watcher of MSNBC, especially the brilliant Ari Melber and Rachel Maddow, I have resolved to boycott any further viewing of your network until you issue a public mea culpa and announcement that you are amending your standards and practices with respect to coverage of political candidates.
Suggested solution:
A public apology and review of standards and practices as anove.
