My complaint:

Ive had a credit card with SunTrust for 30 years or so. We recently sold our home of 45 years and moved to North Carolina where we have our new checking account. I still have our checking account with Sun Trust but I pay my credit card bill with Bill Pay from our new bank. SunTrust now holds my electronic payment for 10 days. Our new bank never heard of this. I called our new bank and got all the payment information. I had paid my balance in full with $1100. SunTrust doesn’t recognize electronic payments saying I could cancel the payment. So my card is frozen until August 6th. I got denied at a Ace Hardware and It was embarrassing. I’m 75 years old. Is this discrimination because of my age? This is a good way to loose a long time customer. If Sun Trust doesn’t want my business, just let me know. Or are they??? Ive never experienced this with Sun Trust. They can change their name to Truest or BBT, but it leaves a bad impression. I’m certainly glad we didn’t but our money from selling our home in Sun Trust.

Suggested solution:

SunTrust should recognize electronic payments. I used SunTrust bill pay for years. They payment was electronic. I dont think you can stop an electronic payment after its been paid. We sold our home of 45 years and I have the money. I even got the electronic payment number but Sun trust didn't want that. As a long time customer and the payment being electronic from a FDIC bank, accept the payment and move on.
