My complaint:

I phoned to fix my mortgage from a variable rate.
Unfortunately they couldn’t help me and advised I needed to visit a branch as my property is based in the Isle of Man – the island branch was CLOSED a number of years ago.
It seems that a policy was rolled out but not communicated to their customers, (as there are too many), that you can only retain your Halifax mortgage on an Isle of Man if you remain on the variable rate.
If you want a better rate, you must go to another lender.
Unfortunately I’m currently working overseas so I’m also unable to do this.

Fixing my mortgage as required on the 5-year fixed deal currently on offer
