I was put in contact with Douglas after anther attorney, Jasmine Story was not well versed in the type of case that I had. Upon meeting with Mr. Mitchell (908-469-0347), we signed the transfer of attorney, so he could receive the remainder of the money that was initially paid to Ms. Story ($3,000.00). Mr. Mitchell received approximately $2,10.00 and the day of our meeting was given another $1,000.00. Mr. Mitchell agreed to a payment plan for the remaining balance (total was $5,200.00) and agreed to take my case. After a few weeks, there was minimal communication from Mr. Mitchell regarding my case and when he finally did respond to me, his communication was very, very short and brief.
Mr. Mitchell was called, texted, as I needed information on my cases progress. Mr. Mitchell did not respond to any of my communications to his cell phone or his office phone and many messages were left there. I went as far as calling to see if he was still practicing law in New Jersey and was told that he was. Mr. Mitchell still has not responded to any of my calls as I have called just to see if he would answer the phone, no calls have been answered by him. I have not gone to his offices yet, but that will happen soon. I felt that if he did not or could not want to provide me with services then he should have stated that and allowed me to find other counsel.
I would like a full refund due to poor, inadequate service that was provided by Mr. Mitchell. I also want an explanation from him preferably in person as to why he felt it necessary to ignore me and my case.
