My complaint:

I have been a loyal watcher of Days of Our LIves for about 18 years, enjoying it until today, when I caught up with the episode from August 3, 2020. It shows prolonged scenes of extreme torture. I recall that my children used to like to cuddle up with their Grandma to watch her stories. If my grandchildren had been with me today, I would immediately have turned off the television and been leery about tuning in again in the future. What about children who might see those scenes without an adult to turn off t.v.? They would likely have nightmares after seeing those scenes–as indeed I may also. This is entirely inappropriate for showing at 1:00 in the afternoon.
I realize that filming of these scenes was done before the horrific viral videos shown of the death of George Floyd, but since the airing date was well after George Floyd’s death, I can’t imagine why the torture scenes weren’t cut or edited from Days. I have witnessed real (via t.v.) scenes of intense torture. I do not want or need to see more torture on a daytime television drama. And children should certainly not see scenes such as those shown August third.

Suggested solution:

I would suggest removing the August 3rd episode immediately from any ways possible for showing it (such as on-demand). At the very least, there should be a disclaimer at the beginning of the airing. (Portions of today's episode may not be suitable for viewing by children or those highly sensitive to scenes of torture.)
Then, PLEASE, refrain from ever airing similar episodes on daytime television.
It has been suggested that I mention that I have posted this on Complain.biz.
