My complaint:
On August 20, 2020 I purchased a sandwich ($12.92), using my bank CC, at the Gig Harbor, WA Panera Bakery for lunch. The next day I noticed a gratuity ($535.83) had been added on the receipt, without my approval. I immediately called the Gig Harbor Panera Bakery and spoke to the store’s manager who readily agreed the gratuity was grossly out of proportion to my order, and that I obviously had not approved the additional charge. I also called my bank to dispute the $535.83 charge (the amount was then “pending”), and put my CC on lock down temporarily so the $535.83 charge wouldn’t post. Nevertheless, on 82120 the $535.83 charge did post in my checking account. I tried calling the Panera complaint phone number (855.372.6372) on 82320, but I was put on hold for more than an hour without any response. I want Panera to ly reverse the $535.83 charge. I’m posting this complaint to COMPLAIN.BIZ because Panera has utterly failed to resolve my complaint.
Suggested solution:
Reimburse the $535.83 gratuity I never agreed to pay.
